Fair Usage Policy
Our Fair Usage Policy is implemented to ensure that we provide efficient internet services to all our clients and prevent any abuse of the provided services.
Please ensure that anyone including children, employees or other users of your household using your account to access tangerine internet services understand and agree with our policies and are aware of the obligations stated hereunder.
Tangerine Limited™ reserves the right to vary the terms of the fair usage policy from time to time and determine what amounts to abuse of use of our services.
2 The following activities amount to breach of the Fair Usage Policy
a) Creating, transmitting, storing or publishing any virus, Trojan, corrupting programs or data.
b) Using the services to indulge in activities that invade privacy, causes annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to any person including third party users.
c) Use of consumer/residential package for commercial use. Our services are for end users and therefore reselling of residential/consumer package amounts to breach of our policy.
d) If the customer uses the services to infringe on Copy rights, Trade marks, Patents or any other Intellectual property rights.
e) If the customer uses the services in a manner which is considered to be offensive, derogative, defamatory, harassing, obscene or contrary to public interest or national security.
f) Making excessive use of the services to the disadvantage of other users through downloading, uploading, receiving or sending large volumes of email or attachments, streaming videos or music and peer to peer traffic.
g) The customer knowingly or negligently transmitting or uploading any electronic material which is known or likely to cause damage, destruction, interruption or limit the functionality of any computer software, hardware or telecommunication equipments owned by Tangerine Limited™ or any other internet user or person.
h) Any unreasonable use that is considered fraudulent, unlawful or adversely affect our network or other customer’s use of or access to our network.
3 In case of breach of the FUP
a) Warning the customer by mail about the abuse.
b) Limit or restrict the customer’s usage during peak hours (Throttling the connection)
c) For extreme abuse of the services, the company shall terminate the services of the customer without any notice or as it deems fit.
4 Terms and conditions
a) is not responsible for any of the users’ activities in using the network. The internet is designed to appeal to a broad audience therefore, it is the user’s responsibility to determine whether any of the contents accessed via our internet services are appropriate for children or any other people within the household or office to use or view.
b) is not liable for any loss of business, revenue, profits, data loss or any other damage incurred, caused by the unauthorized use of our services.
c) waives responsibility regarding the accuracy of all information provided by third parties on www.tangerine.co.ug
d) reserves the right to effect changes regarding its services, prices, terms and conditions, the structure and content of www.tangerine.co.ug at any time after a five days formal notice to the customer’s given address. Customers should ensure that the address given is correct, Tangerine Limited™ will not be liable to anyone for failure to receive the notice due to a wrong address given. Continued use of the services after changes are made amounts to the customer accepting the changes.
e) reserves the right to be indemnified by the customer against any loss or damage it suffers as a result of the customer’s failure to comply with the stated policies.
